Job Title: Campus Concierge Graduate Assistant

Department: Office of Communication Campus Concierge

Supervisor: Kenzie Delongis

Starting Rate of Pay: $12.00

Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.

Campus Concierge strives to model the value of service. Our goal is to improve the daily lives of the HPU family by providing a single source of knowledge for all campus and community information. As a graduate employee, you will gain experience in customer service, leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal communication.

Job Description

Concierge Graduate Assistants provide first-class customer service to the HPU family and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of High Point University and its extensive resources. This position provides HPU students, faculty, staff, and families, with a positive HPU experience and assists in finding solutions to issues of any kind. Graduate students employed by Campus Concierge will develop professional speaking skills and will gain exceptional customer service experience.

Job Location/ Hours Required

  • Ability to work evening and weekends (around class schedule).
  • The candidate will perform most/all job duties in Slane/Wanek Student Centers, Cottrell Hall, the Team Store & Panther Boutique, or Panther Commons. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the maximum number of hours a graduate student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires a minimum of 5 hours per week.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

Experience and Training

  • 1 year of customer service experience in a business with a reputation for first-class customer service
  • Proficient with Facebook and other social media platforms
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers the HPU experience through various mediums including face-to-face interactions, phone calls, emails, and social media while enhancing the opinion and advocacy of the university.
  • Collaborates with members of the Campus Concierge Team while working independently at any of the Campus Concierge locations, or remotely.
  • Covers HPU Facebook Parent Group customer service.
  • Collaborates with various departments to ensure a positive and quick resolution to issues and concerns.
  • Executes multiple projects & job functions with efficiency.
  • Ability to communicate in a positive manner.
  • Ability to focus on details and prioritize tasks.
  • Manges team of student employees, offers guidance in difficult situations and steps in when needed, assists with resolving any issues, with difficult situations, prioritizes student tasks and maintains constant communication with the team when acting at the "Manager on Duty."
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
