We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Computer / Software Engineer to support EWOK software engineering, system integration, test, evaluation, documentation, and lifecycle support activities for Expeditionary Electromagnetic Warfare programs. The ideal candidate will have experience developing, modifying, integrating, testing, and sustaining software in support of DoD, Navy, electronic warfare, tactical, or mission system environments. This position will work with Government leads, systems engineers, software developers, cybersecurity personnel, test engineers, configuration managers, and other technical stakeholders to ensure EWOK software capabilities are properly developed, tested, documented, secured, and maintained. This role requires a software engineer who can support both new capability development and sustainment of existing software systems, while also participating in lab-based testing, integration events, troubleshooting, code reviews, and technical documentation.

This role requires in-person support. 

Duties:

  • Provide computer and software engineering support for EWOK system development, integration, testing, evaluation, sustainment, and lifecycle activities.
  • Support software design, development, modification, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation for EWOK-related capabilities.
  • Develop, maintain, and update software applications, scripts, tools, algorithms, models, utilities, and related software products as required.
  • Analyze system and software requirements to ensure software capabilities support operational needs, system requirements, and test objectives.
  • Support software requirements development, analysis, validation, traceability, risk identification, and mitigation planning.
  • Participate in software architecture, design reviews, code reviews, technical interchange meetings, Integrated Product Teams, and configuration control activities.
  • Support lab-based software testing, software integration testing, system-level testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and verification and validation activities.
  • Develop and execute software test procedures, test cases, test scripts, automated tests, and integration test activities.
  • Support hardware-in-the-loop, lab, and field test environments where EWOK software interacts with hardware, RF systems, networks, sensors, test equipment, or other mission systems.
  • Troubleshoot software defects, integration issues, interface problems, performance issues, data flow errors, and system anomalies.
  • Document software deficiencies, corrective actions, test results, regression impacts, technical risks, and recommended solutions.
  • Use Government-accessible source code repositories and configuration-controlled development environments.
  • Support software configuration management, version control, release management, build control, and documentation of software baselines.
  • Develop and maintain software documentation, including design descriptions, interface documentation, user guides, installation instructions, test documentation, version descriptions, and technical reports.
  • Coordinate with systems engineering personnel to ensure software interfaces, system requirements, data flows, and operational behaviors are properly defined and documented.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity personnel to support secure software development, vulnerability mitigation, system authorization, patching, and compliance with applicable cybersecurity requirements.
  • Support updates, patches, software maintenance, defect correction, and software enhancements needed to maintain EWOK system functionality.
  • Support data analysis, software tool development, visualization, automation, or reporting capabilities as required by the program.
  • Prepare technical briefings, software status updates, engineering summaries, and recommendations for Government and program stakeholders.
  • Ensure all software, documentation, source code, test data, and technical products are properly marked, controlled, stored, and handled in accordance with security, CUI, OPSEC, and configuration management requirements.

Desired Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Desired Experience:

  • 3+ years of related software engineering, military, or technical experience. 
  • Experience developing, modifying, testing, integrating, or sustaining software applications, tools, scripts, or mission system software.
  • Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, MATLAB, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, integration, documentation, and sustainment.
  • Experience using version control tools such as Git or similar source code management systems.
  • Experience supporting software test, integration testing, regression testing, defect tracking, or verification and validation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software issues in lab, test, or operationally relevant environments.
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation, software documentation, test documentation, and engineering reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with software engineers, systems engineers, test engineers, cybersecurity personnel, configuration managers, technicians, and Government stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance; Top Secret/SCI eligibility preferred.
  • Experience supporting NSWC Crane, NAVSEA, Navy, Marine Corps, or other DoD engineering programs.
  • Experience supporting EW systems, RF systems, tactical systems, mission systems, CUAS systems, test infrastructure, or software-defined capabilities.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating environments.
  • Experience with software build processes, automated testing, continuous integration, DevSecOps concepts, or software release management.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, SharePoint, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar development and collaboration tools.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements, RMF, STIGs, vulnerability scanning, patching, software assurance, or secure coding practices.
  • Experience supporting hardware-in-the-loop testing, lab integration, field testing, modeling and simulation, signal processing, or data analysis.
  • Experience developing software that interfaces with hardware, sensors, RF equipment, networks, serial devices, APIs, databases, or proprietary data formats.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, software baselines, interface control documentation, engineering change processes, and technical data packages.
  • Ability to serve as a technical contributor across both software development and system integration activities.
