Job Purpose
Lead initiatives to grow and develop technical talent within assigned Product Lines across all geozones. Build training content, delivery and competency frameworks, optimize workforce capability, and support career development for the Operations job family.
Roles & Responsibilities
Safety, Security & Compliance
  • Ensure all activities comply with corporate governance, HSE, security, and regulatory standards.
  • Promote safety leadership and uphold core values of health, safety, and environment.
Quality
  • Maintain service quality as a priority and actively support continuous improvement.
Operations
  • Own and drive the global competency development program for the segment.
  • Own and develop training content.
  • Own delivery of training to segment workforce.
  • Bring innovative training approaches, including AI-driven solutions, to enhance effectiveness and future readiness.
  • Design career paths, learning plans, and competency frameworks; oversee implementation and administration.
  • Partner with segment leaders and SMEs to embed competency processes and ensure compliance through audits and reviews.
  • Manage annual competency development budget, KPIs, and change management plans.
Communication
  • Build strong relationships within HR and segment leadership.
  • Communicate expectations clearly and engage stakeholders on talent and development needs.
Financial
  • Ensure cost-effective operations within approved budgets.
  • Provide analysis to forecast ROI on training initiatives.
People & Development
  • Support talent management through performance reviews, succession planning, and coaching.
  • Partner with HR and Training teams to attract, retain, and develop a high-performing workforce.
Vision & Leadership
  • Demonstrate ethical leadership and align development strategies with business goals.
  • Promote cross-functional development initiatives and enterprise-level solutions for skills growth.
  • Bring AI-driven solutions to enhance effectiveness and future readiness.
Experience & Education
Required
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 6 years' progressive experience in competency management, career path design, and large-scale training program implementation.
  • Proven leadership in workforce development, with demonstrated coaching and mentoring capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team of trainers, ensuring global alignment, consistency, and quality of delivery.
  • Track record of delivering results in complex, fast-paced, global environments.
Preferred
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications in Learning & Development, Competency Management, or Organizational Development.
  • Experience in the oilfield services or energy sector.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required
  • Ability to turn workforce requirements into clear, measurable development pathways.
  • Skilled in designing blended learning methods (classroom, simulation, digital, and virtual).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven project management ability, delivering global initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Business acumen, with experience in budget control and ROI tracking.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with executive-level presence.
  • Ability to build trust and influence across a global matrix organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a results-driven mindset.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of external accreditation and recertification standards (e.g., IADC, API, OPITO, ISO).
  • Experience building partnerships with universities, industry associations, and technology providers.
  • Strong data and analytics skills for dashboards, performance metrics, and predictive workforce modelling.
