Job description

The Registration and State Compliance Manager supports the registration, and state compliance functions of the College of Education. This role collaborates with program directors, faculty, university offices, and state agencies to support candidate registration processes and State of Tennessee Dept of Education compliance.

Primary Responsibilities

Registration & Student Services

  • Coordinate advising and registration support processes for College of Education students in all programs past the onboarding stage
  • Collaborate with university personnel and program directors regarding course scheduling
  • Review continuing student course registrations for accuracy and progression alignment
  • Ensure students have completed institutional graduation requirements and communicate graduation-related details
  • Manage and maintain the College of Education Student Information Center
  • Update course progression plans in collaboration with Program Directors and Lead Faculty when curriculum changes occur
  • Audit and monitor student account holds and communicate with appropriate university offices and students regarding resolution

State Compliance & Reporting

  • Serve as a liaison between the College of Education and the Tennessee Department of Education regarding operational and compliance-related processes
  • Coordinate and maintain required state documentation and reporting support
  • Assist with state reporting processes, including Tennessee Annual Report and Tennessee Educator Preparation Report Card data collection
  • Support Specialty Area Program (SAP) documentation and state approval processes
  • Monitor implementation of state policy updates impacting educator preparation programs

Candidate Records & Compliance

  • Maintain candidate compliance records and documentation across all COE programs
  • Support background check tracking and documentation processes
  • Collaborate with program directors and university personnel to support candidate progression and compliance requirements across all COE programs
  • Ensure accuracy and organization of candidate records and operational data

Collaboration & Operations

  • Collaborate regularly with program directors, faculty, admissions, registrar, and university offices
  • Communicate operational deadlines, registration information, and compliance expectations to students and faculty
  • Support operational processes connected to educator preparation programs and state requirements
  • Assist with additional College of Education operational and compliance initiatives as assigned
