Job Title: Promotions Demonstrator (Marketing & Communications Assistant)

Hourly Rate: $ 16.50

Contract Term: 8-week term, starting July 6, 2026

Application Deadline: June 25, 2026

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

Position Type: Canada Summer Jobs contract

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate must meet the criteria below to qualify for roles funded by Canada Summer Jobs.
    1. The candidate must be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
    2. The candidate must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
    3. The candidate must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment

      Who We Are:

      Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s. The park features historical buildings, costumed interpreters, working antiques, and various exhibits that provide insight into the region's past.

      Responsibilities:

      Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Promotions Demonstrator is responsible for various duties within the Marketing Department, focusing on supporting the Manager and Digital Marketing Specialists. This position provides the incumbent with a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in marketing and communications in a non-profit organization.

      Responsibilities for this position include:

      • Monitor media coverage and calculate coverage value
      • Help organize and orchestrate media visits at the Park and off-site media runs
      • Perform various writing, editing, and proofreading tasks
      • Monitor and respond to park comments and digital reviews
      • Assist with the collection and development of social media content
      • Administrative duties, such as the distribution of marketing collateral, data entry, and filing
      Required Qualifications:
      • Must meet the Canada Summer Jobs eligibility criteria.
      • Enrolment in or completion of post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field is an asset
      • Previous experience in administrative or assistant roles is an asset.
      • Prior customer service experience is an asset.
      • Strong proficiency in utilizing relevant technologies such as Asana, Office 365, Social Media sites, Adobe Acrobat and CMS (content management systems) like WordPress. Familiarity with AI marketing tools is an asset.
      • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail are imperative
      • High level of integrity and trustworthiness in handling confidential organizational information
      • Commitment to continuous learning and development
      • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a client-facing setting
      • All successful candidates will be required to go through a Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening if working with minors) as a condition of employment.
