Position Summary

Under the direction of the Manager, Communications and Strategic Initiatives: support communication services consistent with the Future Students Unit's mission and objectives, including social media, email marketing, translation, graphic design, web and multimedia. Assist in the design, editing, and production of marketing and communications materials. Offer multimedia support including photography and videography. Create and maintain digital communication platforms (web and social media).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in client consultations to collect content requirements, assess specifications, and create a content calendar.
  • Propose and execute content strategies for social media (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube).
  • Assist in the design of websites, maintain content and produce social media feeds (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), while ensuring information is accurate and complete.
  • Assist in developing content strategies for email marketing campaigns.
  • Research, write, edit and translate short articles, website copy, and email copy.
  • Collaborate with content optimization, student recruitment, and marketing specialists to define and implement best practices for writing tone and style.
  • Prepare and disseminate information concerning events through print materials, email, website, and posters.
  • Edit and proofread documents in various stages of production.
  • Research, crop or resize photos and liaise with Multimedia or Graphic Design Services for video, graphical or audio content.
  • Create a variety of multimedia products using specialized software and graphic programs.
  • Ensures standards and best practices are documented: Compile statistics and data for inclusion in reports. Update documents and reports, either in print or on the website.
  • Establish and foster effective working relationships by identifying needs and providing support in the delivery of services.
  • Attend meetings.


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
Must be a team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the team's overall success in a fast-paced environment. Self-directed work habits, exhibiting initiative, drive, creativity, attention to detail, self-assurance, professionalism, and ability to meet strict deadlines. Analytical mind and excellent communication skills. Bilingual in English and French. Exceptional French language writing and editing skills an asset. Experience working in public relations, marketing, or higher education, an asset. Experience working in email marketing, promotional writing, content optimization (SEO), and/or photography, an asset. Proficiency inAdobe Illustrator,Photoshopis an asset as well as all Microsoft Office Suite products. Demonstrated photography and/or videography skills is an asset. Graphic design experience is an asset.
