Join an exciting new residential home building company at the beginning of its journey and play a key role in bringing new homes to life while helping establish the foundation of a growing residential home builder.


We are seeking a motivated and reliable Labourer / Assistant Site Superintendent to become part of a new home builder at the ground level and gain valuable hands-on experience in residential construction while supporting the day-to-day operations of our active job sites.


This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 1-2 years of residential construction experience who is looking to develop their skills and grow with the company as it expands.


OVERVIEW

The Labourer / Assistant Site Superintendent is responsible for providing operational support to the construction team in the coordination and execution of residential home building activities. This position is a site-based role that supports the successful completion of construction projects by assisting with site organization, material management, contractor coordination, quality control, and general construction activities.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Site Operations & Labour Support

  • Assist with the daily coordination and organization of residential construction sites.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites through regular housekeeping activities, including sweeping, debris removal, and general site maintenance.
  • Assist with receiving, moving, staging, and organizing construction materials and supplies.
  • Support site setup activities, including placement and maintenance of construction signage, safety signage, and site notices.
  • Assist with general labour requirements throughout all phases of residential construction.
  • Support preparation of homes and sites for inspections, trades, deliveries, and scheduled activities.
  • Ensure tools, materials, and equipment are properly organized and maintained.
  • Complete minor framing fixes/repairs to keep the corresponding trades on site working

Contractor & Trade Coordination Support

  • Assist in coordinating daily activities with trades, contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Meet with contractors and trades on site to support efficient workflow and communication.
  • Assist in ensuring trades have the necessary access, materials, and site conditions required to complete their work.
  • Report site progress, concerns, deficiencies, and delays to the leadership team.
  • Support follow-up on outstanding items and assist with maintaining construction schedules.

Construction Quality & Project Support

  • Participate in regular site walks to identify deficiencies, safety concerns, and areas requiring attention.
  • Assist with quality control inspections and ensure work is completed in accordance with company standards.
  • Support deficiency management and completion activities throughout the construction process.
  • Develop knowledge of residential construction processes, building standards, and construction sequencing.
  • Assist with documentation, tracking, and communication related to project progress.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe working environment and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow all Occupational Health and Safety requirements and maintain required safety certifications.
  • Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements are followed at all times.
  • Identify and report potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and incidents promptly.
  • Support a culture of safety and accountability on all job sites.
  • Conduct weekly hazard assessments of all job sites to ensure sites are safe for our trade partners.


REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS)


  • 1-2 years of experience working in residential construction, home building, or a related construction environment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of residential construction processes and job site operations.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop within the residential construction industry.
  • Ability to work independently while following direction from site management and construction team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work outdoors and perform physical labour in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.

Working Conditions

  • This is a full-time, site-based position requiring regular presence at active residential construction sites.
  • Work may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, construction materials, noise, and active job site environments.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, moving materials, standing, walking, and working on active construction sites.
  • Occasional early mornings, extended hours, or weekend work may be required based on construction schedules.
