Job description

Imagine yourself...
  • Doing meaningful work that keeps our sales teams paid accurately, fairly, and on time.

  • Thriving in a supportive team environment that inspires you to strive for excellence.

  • Joining a company with a proven track record of success and an exciting future.

At ChemTreat, a Veralto company, we've been keeping industrial water systems clean, safe, and efficient since 1968. Our specialty water treatment chemistries and dedicated field engineers help facilities across North and South America protect their equipment, meet environmental requirements, and run more efficiently. We accomplish this through long-term customer partnerships, deep technical expertise, and reliable, field-tested solutions.
As part of our team and the broader Veralto network, you'll be part of a unique work environment where purpose meets possibility: where you'll make an immediate, measurable impact on a global scale by helping safeguard the world's water resources, and where you'll have opportunities to foster your professional development and fuel your career growth.
Motivated by the highest possible stakes of environmental protection and industrial reliability, we're working together to deliver innovative water treatment solutions that keep the world's essential industries running safely and sustainably.
We offer
  • Benefits starting Day 1 including medical/dental/vision, 401k with company matching.

  • Annual performance-based bonuses.

  • Lots of independence with a seriously supportive team and manager!

About the role
Reporting to the Global Commissions Manager, the Sr. Commissions Analyst will primarily focus on ChemTreat sales commissions and assist with payroll functions. This role is critical to ensuring our sales associates are compensated appropriately and that ChemTreat complies with contractual agreements and sales compensation plans, by accurately analyzing and processing payments and statements within established timeframes. Interfacing with multiple functions, you'll implement procedures and controls, maintain supporting systems, and drive process improvement while building strong working relationships across functional groups.
This position is part of the Finance & Accounting - Payroll team and will be based onsite at our Glen Allen, VA headquarters.
In this role, a typical day will look like
  • Managing commission plans end-to-end - tracking changes and seeking approvals for plan progression.

  • Conducting analysis and trend reporting, and recommending to conference leaders when associates are ready to move to full commission.

  • Making modifications to the sales commission portal (SCP) based on commission plans and conference leader requests, including back-dated calculations for post-dated requests.

  • Analyzing, compiling, and tracking technician funding and related calculations, and keeping SCP current with ChemTreat's funding obligation.

  • Owning the monthly process of calculating sales associate commissions per individual plan provisions and submitting data to Payroll for payment.

  • Providing excellent customer service to sales representatives on commission, account, territory, split, and rate questions - partnering with Accounts Receivable, Customer Support, Compliance, Payroll, and HR to resolve issues and ensure accurate compensation.

  • Resolving reconciliation issues and processing exceptions related to commission data.

  • Supporting Compliance, Accounting, FP&A, and Accounts Receivable in creating expense files processed in SCP, and analyzing expense files, ChemTreat recovery funding, and third-party commissions for month-end close.

  • Conducting quarterly audits to ensure commission inputs are complete, accurate, and comply with monthly SOX controls.

  • Assisting with development and testing of new SCP features, new commission processes, and modeling new commission plans.

  • Providing backup and support to the Global Commissions Manager and the Commissions inbox.

  • Supporting bi-weekly payroll processing, including year-end activities and projects, and training and supporting the Commissions Analyst.

The essential requirements of the job include
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, or 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

  • 2-4 years of experience in a sales compensation or related role.

  • Previous experience with an automated payroll service such as ADP or Workday.

  • Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook, with a strong aptitude for working with numbers.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organizational and self-management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills; self-motivated with the ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information and clearly communicate financial results to all levels of management.
