Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Business Development Director to join our team in Texas. This position can be hired out of Dallas or Houston and will be responsible for all of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
As a Business Development Director, you will:
Support company's revenue and market share growth by executing business development plans for securing new and competitively held business to achieve area goals and objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, real estate professionals, design firms, project managers, and distribution partners to uncover new business opportunities. Guide and support a team to increase market share. Meet assigned sales targets including quota.
Essential Functions
  • Drives revenue growth by executing strategic business plans, expanding existing accounts, acquiring new business, and aligning team goals.
  • Manages forecasting, pipeline, and execution of business plans with focus on win rates; oversees budget compliance, policy execution, and team management.
  • Work closely with distribution partners on joint plans to strengthen relationships and implement strategies for market share growth.
  • Oversee execution of account development plans, e.g., campaigns, personal client engagement, influencer plans, and target account strategy.
  • Builds trust with key decision-makers through meaningful engagements to drive new business opportunities.
  • Networks in market to promote brand, build key relationships, track industry trends, competitor activities, and identify new business.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to implement corporate strategies, align resources and communications. Works with Global Accounts Directors to allocate resources for global clients.
  • Coaches and develops team performance through regular sessions and reviews, ensuring accountability for goals. Promotes the effective use of Haworth selling tools and CRM.
  • Fosters belonging and career growth by supporting talent acquisition, engagement, retention, and team development.
  • Develops effective leadership skills and coaching methods to improve own and team performance.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Architecture, Interior Design, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent.
  • Education Equivalency:
    • Associate's degree plus 2 years related experience or,
    • High school diploma plus 4 years related experience.

Work Experience:
  • 5 years of diversified sales and account development experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5 years of experience in commercial product sales with a demonstrated track record of successful revenue generation/quota retirement results.
  • 2 years of experience in a sales supervisory role.

Additionally:
  • Ability to work in Dallas or Houston, TX without relocation assistance.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing remote territories and team members.
