Job description

Soane Britain is seeking an experienced, driven sales professional to represent the skills of our craftspeople and Soaneโ€™s mission driven business in Texas through business development and sales activities.
Based remotely in or near Houston, Dallas or Austin, you will be joining a small but experienced North American team to build meaningful, curious relationships with our clients, established and new.

This is a wonderful opportunity to oversee the development of a growing market across fabrics, wallpapers, furniture and lighting, while learning about our skilled craftspeople and commitment to sustainable materials and design integrity.

In return we offer:

  • Competitive base salary and commission
  • Generous PTO
  • Opportunities to travel to our New York showrooms and British workshops

Company Overview:
With an uncompromising commitment both to British manufacturing and to our customers worldwide, Soaneโ€™s mission is to design and make enduring and life-enhancing furniture, lighting, fabrics, and wallpapers. By working with a network of the finest craftspeople in Britain, we preserve traditional skills and nurture them for future generations.
As well as working with independent craft workshops across Britain, we have developed our own substantial in-house manufacturing operations in Leicester and the South of England. We have notable showrooms in London and New York where our passionate and committed team champions exceptional British craftsmanship.
For more information, please visit www.soane.com and join our social media platforms Pinterest and Instagram.

Purpose of the Position:
Having built great relationships with our Texas clients over more than 25 years, we are now seeking to invest in a territory-based sales professional to deepen our knowledge about their projects and offer in-person consultations and presentations.
You will be solely responsible for growing sales of our furniture, lighting, fabrics and wallpapers as well as offering advice on commercial and bespoke projects.
You will be supported by the New York-based sampling team as well as colleagues in the UK who will manage your orders through our workshops and arrange shipping and logistics services.
Success will be measured through your reports on selling activity, from in person meetings and networking through to identifying project opportunities, quoting and raising pro-forma invoices.

Qualifications and Qualities for the Position:

  • At least 3 years in a business-to-business sales role, ideally in furniture, lighting, fabrics or wallpapers
  • Great references which will speak to your sales success, teamwork and curiosity about our industry
  • Driving licence and the ability to work from home as well as travel to the UK
  • At interview you will be able to demonstrate sales success and relevant industry contacts, high levels of self-motivation and a passion for good design made with purpose and integrity, including sustainability considerations.
