Job Description:
The Director, Business Intelligence is responsible for managing development of performance analytics strategies that will support Episcopal Health Services (the system) to drive efficiency, financial stewardship and data governance in support of the overall organization. This position reports to the Vice President of Financial Planning and Operations and involves high level scope of the health system revenue cycle and financial performance. The role ensures data governance with using data for executive decision making.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for ensuring data quality, lineage, and standardization throughout the data ecosystem, while collaborating with Finance, IT, and Security teams on the overall governance and control framework.
  • Manage a small team of analytic team members and analysts organized by business function across finance, revenue cycle, and operations. You will hire, develop, and shape the team as the function matures.
  • Ensures staffing, succession planning, performance management, and professional development at all levels.
  • Further develop our in-house AI analytics platform as a production service, develop new functionality using AI-driven tools, and actively find new ways to surface insights with AI as part of the analytical toolkit.
  • Work directly with the executive team to produce the data that supports strategy - KPI dashboards, board materials, earnings support, and ad-hoc analysis - and to make recommendations based on it.
  • Own the business intelligence roadmap and act as the primary prioritization layer between business stakeholders and the data analytics team.
  • Present enterprise metrics, data health, and BI strategy to the CFO, CIO, and executive leadership.
  • Own the presentation layer: executive dashboards, curated reporting, and the Tableau platform (structure, user roles, governance, and access).
  • Analyze data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support strategic decision-making and make recommendations.
  • Assist in the financial planning and analysis process for the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and required regulatory reporting
  • Manage the governance and process all state financial reporting data weekly, monthly and as required by the state.
  • As a senior leader, participate on Enterprise Committees, Steering Committees, Quality & Compliance groups, and major IT optimization programs.
  • Identifies meaningful financial performance and revenue improvement opportunities using analytics, benchmarking, and auditing.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in Healthcare finance, performance analytics, strategic planning, or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
  • Data preparation software experience required (Alteryx, Dataflow, Tableau Prep, etc)
  • Data Visualization required (Tableau, Tableau Prep, Power BI, etc.)
