We are seeking an EntryLevel Project Manager to support field supervisors and senior managers primarily for pipeline integrity while learning foundational skills required to progress toward a Project Manager.

Role Summary

The Junior Project Manager (JPM) Pipeline Integrity Division supports the planning, execution, and successful delivery of pipeline maintenance projects. Working under the guidance of senior project management staff, this role assists with estimating, coordinating field operations, managing project documentation, tracking costs and schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Successful candidates must be safety and quality minded.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of pipeline construction and maintenance processes and lifecycle
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles (scope, schedule, cost)
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams) required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project is considered an asset
  • Valid Safety Certificates (H2S, First Aid, CSO)
  • Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record


Preference given to the following educational accomplishments

  • Hold a recognized certificate in project management
  • Certified associate in project management (CAPM) designation

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to remote locations and effectively navigate using various mapping tools and systems
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including clients, inspectors, and regulatory representatives
  • Provide support to Field Supervisors, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and other leadership personnel
  • Assist in project setup, ensuring appropriate allocation of manpower, skilled trades, equipment, and resources
  • Serve as a liaison between office personnel and field operations to ensure clear communication and alignment
  • Implement proactive procedures and planning strategies to minimize operational challenges and delays
  • Attend site meetings and complete the required management tour and reporting documentation
  • Assist in project estimating and cost preparation activities
  • Support the turnover of estimates into active project execution
  • Monitor and analyze estimated versus actual project performance
  • Develop and distribute project job binders, including bid documents, budgets, and supporting information
  • Review field tickets to verify accurate tracking and billing of equipment, materials, and labour
  • Escalate concerns, risks, or issues to the Senior Project Manager
  • Assist in the development, tracking, and review of operational metrics with relevant team members
