Job description

Our Infrastructure Solutions group is currently looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to our team, based in Edmonton, AB.

Reporting to the Project Manager (Project Development and Support), we are seeking a collaborative and execution-focused professional to support large electrical infrastructure projects. This position will work closely with Project Managers and Project Coordinators providing hands-on project management support with project schedules, cost, subcontractor performance, and stakeholder communication on transmission projects across Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop, maintain, and report on project schedules, milestones, and execution plans
  • Support procurement activities and subcontractor management including quote evaluation, commitment tracking, and performance monitoring against contract terms
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly project reporting deliverables to the Project Manager and senior leadership
  • Track project costs, prepare invoices, forecast variances, and support financial performance reporting
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and project partners on behalf of the Project Manager

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field
    • an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
  • 3 years of experience in a project management or coordination role within the construction or infrastructure industry
  • Strong working knowledge of project management principles and project controls including schedule, cost, and change management
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or actively working towards certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking, reporting, and financial analysis

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Electrical Infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated Project cost controls
