Here's how a Sustainability Project Manager for PCL Construction Enterprises, Inc. within US Head Office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities
  • Leading the implementation of sustainability and communication plans for large projects such as data centers.  This includes working cross-functionally with the following teams: PCL's project teams (eg. data centers), Marketing and Communications, Business Development. 
  • Developing a sustainability and communications plan to demonstrate PCL's leadership in sustainable development. Demonstrating industry-leading mitigation of impacts associated with data centers.  Contributing to other internal and external sustainability communications and marketing efforts including corporate sustainability/ESG reporting, materiality assessments, and external presentations. 
  • Building relationships with clients, stakeholders and the public to demonstrate PCL's leadership in sustainable construction. 
  • Managing project budgets/schedules and identifying and managing risk and opportunities.  Ensuring sustainability projects are managed per specifications, budget, quality and schedule. 
  • Supporting PCL's climate risk and emissions reporting regulatory requirements.  
  • Researching and implementing innovation including AI - applying cost-effective, innovative solutions to sustainability program. 
  • Project managing decarbonization projects for PCL to achieve its GHG reduction targets.  These projects include but are not limited to:  jobsite decarbonization, fleet electrification, low carbon procurement (corporate and jobsite), and owned asset decarbonization. 
  • Supporting efforts to execute against PCL's Sustainability Roadmap and Strategic Plan. 
  • Supporting the districts in providing our clients with the necessary expertise to assist them to profitably develop, design, construct, and operate projects to achieve the highest level of sustainability while meeting their goals. 
  • Leading a small team of direct and indirect reports, which may include students/interns, coordinators, and/or project engineers/consultants. 
Qualifications
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in related discipline:   environmental science/studies, sustainability, communications and public relations, engineering, architecture or business coupled with expertise and experience in the construction industry.  Master's degree is considered an asset. 
  • 5-8 years of progressive construction and sustainability experience, including leadership and mentoring preferred, with proven ability to manage complex projects.  Commercial construction experience and data center construction experience are considered an asset. 
  • Excellent communications skills including verbal, written, presentation and speaking skills. 
  • Ability to envision and communicate creative, cost-effective, solutions to meet business needs. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers. 
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize direct-report tasks for prompt execution. 
  • Ability to influence project designers and engineers, while demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. 
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and proactively address challenges or gaps in the sustainable construction 
  • Strong customer service and solution provider abilities 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internal operations systems: carbon accounting (GHG) software applications, utility management software. 
  • LEED accreditation is considered an asset 
  • Willingness to travel throughout Canada and the United States 

The estimated salary range for this role is between $90,000-$125,000, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.  We anticipate this requisition will be open for a minimum of five days, though it may be open for a longer period of time.
