We are seeking a full-time Program Manager to support a high-profile corporate client in Tempe, AZ.
This hybrid role requires onsite work at the Tempe office Monday through Thursday, with remote work on Fridays. This is a temporary, full-time position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Program Manager, you will ensure long-term success of the client's population health program by guiding and supporting a holistic well-being solution that is tailored to the client's needs and organizational culture. You will provide thought leadership by personalizing industry insights, best practices, and trends to the client's employee population. Primary functions include health strategy design and development, vendor collaboration and oversight, and population health data analysis and measurement.
Job Overview:
Well-being Strategy & Program Development
  • Assesses population health needs using available claims data, utilization statistics, and satisfaction to identify opportunities and develop tactical project plans.
  • Provides oversight and best practice guidance to workplace and virtual population health initiatives and focus areas.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to develop and assist with a cohesive, holistic and data-focused population health strategy to drive health improvement and resiliency of the employee population.
  • Develops and executes population health project management activities and communications nationally and on a global scale.
  • Manages the client's population health offerings (e.g. discount programs, incentives, programming, health plan resources, homegrown resources).
  • Conducts impact analysis of population health initiatives, benchmarks programming and utilizes claim and related data to monitor, track, forecast, and analyze trends & challenges, to identify opportunities to drive further engagement and clinical value.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Oversees and works across all population health vendors to remove barriers, enhance referral pathways and create integration opportunities under a unified strategy.
  • Collaborates regularly with the client's internal support structure along with Plus One/Optum operations, engagement, sales and account management teams.

Group Fitness Coordination
  • Serves as the Group Fitness Coordinator, overseeing class scheduling, implementation of exercise classes, and overall supervision of Group Fitness Instructors to ensure member participation and satisfaction.
  • Partners with Service Delivery Leader and Human Capital to hire, train, coach, motivate, schedule, develop, evaluate and, when necessary, terminate Workplace Well-being team members across associated services
  • Provide recurring reports on the engagement of Group Fitness programs
  • Attend on-site events to market Group Fitness programs
  • Ensure that Group Fitness programming and classes meet the operating standards and culture of the site, Client, and Workplace Well-being.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all inquiries from clients, members, and guests, and respond to suggestions, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Handles and stores all data in compliance with relevant data protection laws and policies (e.g. HIPAA, GDPR etc).
  • Implements and follows all Workplace Well-being and client policies and procedures.
  • Performs any other projects and responsibilities as required.

What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (health promotion, health education, public health or related health emphasis).
  • Five or more years of experience in health promotion, health management, corporate wellness, human resources/organizational behavior or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience with implementation or large healthcare project management experience.
  • One or more years of people management experience.
  • Experience in financial reporting, trend analysis, and communicating at an executive level.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, design and implement solutions to problems involving analytical and creative elements.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective and engaging public speaking skills with the ability to communicate professionally and appropriately with clients and participants.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Valued but not required knowledge and experience:
  • Master's degree in a Health Promotion Management, Public Health or related field.
  • Related Health Promotion or Public Health certification such as: National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) certification, WellCert Certified Wellness Practitioner, CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist).
  • Relevant experience with health plan, client and vendor management, and preferably experience with Optum's employer market space.
  • Current professional nutrition certification or licensure, such as Registered Dietitian Nutritionist or Licensed Dietitian (in states where licensure is applicable).
