MSGL After-School Program Coordinator


Are you passionate about working with children and creating a positive impact on their lives? Do you have the desire to inspire and mentor young minds while fostering a love for learning? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!


We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated After-School Program Coordinator to join our team at the Montessori School of Greater Lafayette. This role involves supervising children aged 6 through 12 after regular class hours every Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 5:45pm, giving them a relaxed space to unwind and decompress at the end of their day, while also providing engaging, enriching activities for them.


Experience and Academic Requirements:

  • Prefer a minimum of one year of experience working with children
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED

The ideal candidate for this role possesses the following qualities and traits:

General Responsibilities:

As the After-School Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for the supervision of children who remain at school after regular class hours. Your primary focus will be on providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children, where they can engage in various activitiesand decompress after a full day at school.


Specific Duties:

  • Arrive at 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to help end the day in our lower elementary classroom and set up the extended day area.
  • Greet children at 3:15 p.m. and ensure a smooth transition from regular classes to the after-school program.
  • Plan and provide outdoor or indoor activities that are fun, educational, and developmentally appropriate for the age group.
  • Ensure parents sign out children as they arrive for pick up, maintaining a safe and organized dismissal process.
  • Clean up the program area after activities and lock up the designated spaces by 6:00 p.m.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Executive Director to support the school's overall mission.
