Job description

Location: Los Angeles, California (on-site)

Our mission is to promote American values through the creative use of digital media, technology and edu-tainment. We're proud to be voted among the Best Place to Work in Los Angeles by the LA Business Journal 4 years in a row.

The Production Archivist will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and scaling a digital library of assets from past, current, and future video and audio projects across the PragerU Production Team's arsenal of content lines. This is a new position with the goal of cleaning house: organizing stock assets, archiving completed projects to cold storage, and other assignments as needed.

This role will be highly self-managed. The ideal candidate is hyper-organized and tech-savvy, with a passion for creating detail-oriented systems in a complicated, fast-moving environment. Extreme tenacity will be required: this role will be cleaning up layered and inconsistent organization from years past, taking this project from idea to implementation to scaling.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing assets and organization to ideate a library system that fits PragerU Production's needs for stock footage, photos, music, sound effects, and more, with foresight to potentially work cross-departmentally down the road.
  • Dig through past projects to source assets from stock subscriptions, and log license details accordingly. Some past projects will be easy to sort through and track down; others will be difficult.
  • Oversee archiving, uploading, and organizing completed project files to cold storage. Use Adobe Premiere to prep files. On occasion, move projects from cold storage and prepare for editorial to re-open.
  • Liaise with other departments to help build company-wide systems while advocating for Production team needs.
  • Work with the IT department to ensure that Production team systems align with company systems.
  • Assist with other projects as needed/available

Successful Candidates Will Possess:

  • 5-7+ years of post production experience, especially in terms of systems management. Background as an AE, DIT, or DAM could be helpful but not required
  • Self-sufficient, a quick thinker, and a fast learner. Technologically savvy and process-minded
  • Possess extreme tenacity to work on long-term, detail-driven assignments
  • Strong problem-solving skills, organization, and discernment
  • Able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and work with a variety of team members and departments
  • Adhere to established processes and structures
  • Able to follow specific instructions while also demonstrating big-picture comprehension
  • Able to work with startup-type hustle and keep things simple without overcomplicating
  • A true Team Player, proactive, helpful, honest, and calm under pressure. This is a no-ego environment where no task is too small
