JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Tribal Data Archivist
LOCATION: Administration Building
SALARY: $15.00-$18.00 per hour, 40 hours per week, Plus Benefits
SUPERVISOR (S): IT Director
THIS IS A REGULAR FULL-TIME NON-EXEMPT POSITION
JOB SUMMARY: Implement digitization of Tribal information, legacy and current for all departments of the Tribe.
Examples of Duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Scan existing paper documents, catalog electronic documents, transcribe legacy documents, apply metadata and structure as required to facilitate retrieval and analysis.
  2. Collaborate with department representatives and system administrator to determine optimal strategies for storage structure.
  3. Install document access software on client computers.
  4. Manage transport, storage and disposal of paper documents as required.
  5. Oversee any LTE scanning personnel.
  6. Work with Vendors to request quotes and invoices for technology procurement
  7. Work with the Legal Department to manage IT Contracts
  8. Work with Procurement and Accounting to assist in procurement operations
  9. The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position. The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor.
  10. Provide assistance with other department's use of the Tribal Data Archival Solutions
  11. Administrate Property and Procurement, quote requests, requisitions, contracts, and invoice support.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: LTE Scanner Positions.
Typical Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Knowledge of: Microsoft operating system, file system, applications. Paper document scanning, organizing, OCR, disposal. Electronic document management. Document indexing and metadata usage.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Minimum of high school diploma, HSED or GED required.
  2. Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  3. Appreciation of the role that data plays in Tribal history and operation.
  4. Minimum of 1 year experience in Scanner operation.
  5. Ability to maintain concentration while executing very repetitive tasks.
  6. Ability to understand and apply the needs of employees across Tribal departments.
  7. Experience working with Laserfiche software a plus.
  8. Attention to detail.
  9. Rapid and accurate keyboard entry.
  10. Must be able to maintain focus for extended periods of time.
  11. Must be skilled in Microsoft operating system environment and applications.
  12. Ability to handle sensitive information, confidentially.
