Job/Department Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Applications, the Application Support Manager provides leadership and direction for the reliable, efficient, and innovative delivery of applications that enable Chico State's administrative and business operations (e.g., ID card system, Adobe Sign, ticketing system, and applications used in specific functional areas). The manager leads a team of IT professionals responsible for supporting and enhancing a diverse portfolio of university systems, ensuring that projects, implementations, upgrades, and integrations are executed effectively and aligned with institutional priorities. This role builds strong partnerships across the Division of IT, with campus stakeholders and external vendors, to drive strategic technology investments, continuous improvement, and user satisfaction. The manager fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence in support of the University's mission and IT Strategic Plan.
Required Education and Experience:
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
AND
Three (3) or more years of experience managing or leading IT application support or development teams.
Preferences:
Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
- Experience with enterprise application ecosystems or integrations.
- Experience with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
- Demonstrated commitment to EDI and customer service excellence.
Time Base: Full-time
Pay Plan: 12/12
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm
Anticipated Hiring Range: $90,00 - $110,000 per year. Salary commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected.

This position is a Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) designated managerial position and comes under the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) of the California State University. Individuals appointed to management positions serve at the pleasure of the President or designee. They are excluded from the collective bargaining process, are not subject to probationary service, and do not receive tenure or permanent status. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
