Subject: Application Support Consultant
Location: Folsom, NJ
Duration: 3-6 months with CTH.
Start: ASAP
This is a Contract to hire. US Citizen or Green card or Full EAD.

Qualifications

Our client is not looking for a senior resource - someone who has a solid 3 years of experience supporting applications with backend SQL database. A SQL DBA with some development experience in SSRS would also be acceptable along with Access and VBA Macro experience.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
3 - 5 years applicable experience in production application development and/or application support
Expertise and experience in legacy applications such as Microsoft Access and Excel VBA Macros
Experience with SQL Server 2012Expertise and experience in the following application platforms: VB.net, SSIS, SSRS, Visual Studios
Expertise and experience in TSQL, SQL stored procedures and views
Passionate about solving problems
Dedicated to continuous learning and professional development
Understands the workflow and process requirements of complex application systems
Excellent problem solving/analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools
Strong customer services and problem solving skills
Ability to provide outstanding customer service, be a good listener and work well with others

Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a diverse group of customers

Responsibilities include:
Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve application support tickets submitted through an Incident Management system
Gain a solid understanding of software and hardware used and supported
Provide application production support for ad hoc requests requiring coding and development - design, test, debug, implement, and document programs.
Provide routine application monitoring and maintenance
Monitor assigned software applications, document and analyze problems
Establish and maintain user and administrator accounts
Maintain system documentation
Provide advice and training to end-users as required
Understand and support all system interfaces for assigned applications
Enable best practices and implement where appropriate
Collaborate with server administrators and database administrators to ensure proper integration of the environment
Work closely with business and vendor to tune and troubleshoot applications
Provides second level of technical support for all corporate systems and software components as assigned
Provide Level 3 support for the application. Must be able to support 24 x 7.
Leads and participates in efforts to develop and implement process improvements and automation for application and system monitoring
Leads and participates in efforts to implement application updates to include upgrades, patches, and new releases
Develop work plans and track/report status of assigned projects/tasks
Liaise with vendor support on all issues
