Title: Application Administrator Location: Foster City California 94404 Type: Onsite | 4 days in office Duration: 06 Months Contract Pay Rate: $70.00- 78.00/Hour on w2. (DOE)
Position Summary
  • The IT Applications group owns and operates a growing number of large and unique applications.
  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Application Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our critical business applications, preferably experience in managing Engineering applications / tools.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both Windows and Linux administration, coupled with practical knowledge of cloud infrastructure, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain application software across Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve complex production problems in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), application maps, and configuration guides.
  • Manage user access, security permissions, and application-specific settings.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement preventative measures.
  • Application license management and provide license usage metrics as needed to the business
  • Participate in discussion related to Hardware/Storage cluster changes with internal and external stakeholders and coordinate changes
  • Participate in efforts to migrate on-premises applications to the AWS platform.

Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience as an Application Administrator, System Administrator, or in a related technical role.
  • Demonstrated experience administering and supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.

Technical Skills:
  • Experience in providing IT support for Engineering applications - installation, license management & configuration
  • Proficient in administering and troubleshooting both Windows and Linux Servers
  • Good working knowledge of core AWS services, deploying and managing applications in AWS.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and system management.
  • Knowledge of Azure AD /SAML, SSL Certificates is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of database concepts and experience interacting with SQL (e.G., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge in general User administration/AD, Security, Network, Storage, Virtualization/ VDIs and backups
  • Experience with License management tools, OpenLM or similar (Nice to have but not mandatory)
