Description
Responsible for assisting with planning local and regional alumni events, and supporting the Director of Alumni Relations in enhancing alumni programs and volunteer management. Supports the Director of Alumni Relations in enhancing alumni programs and events and membership management.
Examples
Corresponds with alumni and other constituents concerning membership as well as alumni association and engagement opportunities. Maintains alumni records; develops, plans and execute innovative programs that enhance and elevate the alumni experience. Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends. Develops and promotes social media campaigns and in person events. Communicates and works with staff from the University Development team. Attends conferences, regional and local events and represents MSU Alumni as needed. Assists with program assessment and evaluation and manages other duties consistent with qualifications and abilities as assigned.
Physical Condition
Must be able to travel to university events and programs. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Experience
Four (4) year's event planning and management preferred. Must have social media management experience.
Knowledge
Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel), CMS platforms, marketing, and project planning tools. Must possess the ability to multi-task and detail oriented.
Education
Bachelor's degree required.
Additional Requirements
Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and have proven organizational skills. Must be a positive representative of the university and possess the ability to establish working relationships with various constituencies including students, faculty, and staff. Will be expected to answer phones, greet guests and other administrative duties as needed.

Requires the ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Personal cell phone usage may be required to complete position duties, including multi-function authentication requirements. Regular reliable attendance is required.
This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check. Position is designated as a Responsible Employee as outlined by Title IX. May serve as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
