Director, Alumni Relations
HBCU in Alabama
Salary Range: $50,000 to $60,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience
Terrific Director, Alumni Relations position with a Historically Black College & University (HBCU) in Alabama.
The Director, Alumni Relations will be an integral member of the college's Advancement team. The Director will be responsible for ensuring strong relationships and increased participation from alumni. The role will develop campaigns and serve as a liaison to the National Alumni Association and its affiliates.
Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement alumni relations strategies for the college
  • Foster and build strong relationships with alumni
  • Increase participation in alumni giving with a focus on re-engaging donors and gaining first-time donors
  • Develop campaigns, including reunion giving, class giving, and digital giving
  • Serve as a liaison between the college and the National Alumni Association and affiliates
  • Oversee and execute events for alumni
  • Recruit and develop volunteers, association leadership, and volunteer committees
Qualifications:
  • Approximately 1-3+ years of relevant alumni relations or fundraising experience
  • Experience as a trainer may be transferable to this position
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience in higher education or nonprofit organizations
  • High level of professionalism
  • Passion for HBCU's
  • Experience utilizing a donor CRM system
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Mission-driven
