Position Summary:
Under the direction and guidance of the Associate Vice President for Alumni Engagement, the Director of Alumni Engagement, CPHS & CUSOM is an integral part of the Institutional Advancement team.
The Director of Alumni Engagement, CPHS & CUSOM is responsible for developing, coordinating, and strengthening alumni engagement efforts for the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and the Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine. This position serves as a primary alumni engagement liaison for both schools and works collaboratively with Institutional Advancement, the Deans, faculty, staff, alumni volunteers, students, and campus partners to build meaningful connections between alumni and Campbell University.
The Director develops and executes alumni engagement strategies that support the University's mission, strengthen alumni relationships, promote volunteer involvement, support student-to-alumni engagement, and enhance collaboration with fundraising, communications, and stewardship efforts. This position works closely with the Director of Development, CPHS & CUSOM to identify opportunities for alumni involvement that may lead to deeper engagement and philanthropic support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and execute a comprehensive annual alumni engagement plan for the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and School of Osteopathic Medicine.
- Serve as the primary alumni engagement contact for CPHS and CUSOM alumni, alumni volunteers, alumni boards, committees, students, faculty, staff, campus partners, and external partners, including corporate partners, clinical sites, preceptors, and other key constituents.
- Provide leadership and support for alumni boards, advisory groups, committees, and volunteer initiatives connected to CPHS and CUSOM.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute alumni meetings, events, programs, and engagement opportunities for CPHS and CUSOM, including reunions, networking events, alumni board meetings, student-alumni programs, continuing education events, and other school-based activities; collaborate with school leadership and campus partners in support of key milestones such as Match Day and graduation.
- Collaborate with school leadership, faculty, staff, Institutional Advancement colleagues, and external partners to identify meaningful opportunities for alumni and friends to engage through mentoring, career connections, volunteer service, student engagement, events, program support, and other relationship-building opportunities.
- Develop and support student-to-alumni engagement efforts that encourage current students to build a lifelong connection with Campbell University.
- Work in partnership with the Director of Development, CPHS & CUSOM, Advancement Communications, school-based marketing and communications staff, and other campus partners to support alumni engagement strategies that strengthen donor pipelines, stewardship opportunities, alumni storytelling, and engagement initiatives through appropriate communication channels.
- Maintain accurate records of alumni engagement activity, including volunteer involvement, event participation, alumni updates, employment information, professional achievements, and other relevant information in the University's alumni and donor database.
- Track, evaluate, and report alumni engagement activity, event outcomes, volunteer participation, and progress toward established engagement goals.
- Represent CPHS, CUSOM, and Institutional Advancement at alumni events, school events, university programs, and other activities as appropriate.
- Support collaboration between CPHS and CUSOM leadership and Institutional Advancement to ensure alumni engagement priorities align with school and University goals.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, Information Security, HIPAA, FERPA, and other state and federal mandates.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred.
- At least three years of significant higher education, nonprofit, alumni relations, volunteer management, event planning, communications, advancement, or related experience preferred.
- Experience in higher education, health sciences education, nonprofit advancement, alumni relations, or constituent engagement desired.
- Experience working with alumni boards, advisory boards, volunteers, or committees desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with alumni, students, faculty, staff, donors, volunteers, university officials, and external partners.
- Ability to engage and motivate alumni and volunteers in support of the University's mission.
- Event planning and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple events, programs, and priorities simultaneously.
- Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology
- Familiarity with Ellucian CRM Advance and web-based applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and common methods of digital communication such as web conferencing, web/text chat.
- Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with donors, alumni, trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
- Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
- Exercise good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
- Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines.
- Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment.
- Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours and/or occasional travel; including overnight stays.
