Director 340B Program Management - BioPlus

Location: This field-based role enables associates to primarily operate in the field, traveling to client sites or designated locations as their role requires, with occasional office attendance for meetings or training. This approach ensures flexibility, responsiveness to client needs, and direct, hands-on engagement Alternate locations may be considered.

The Director CarelonRx 340B Program Management is responsible for the management of a portfolio of projects and/or programs ensuring their alignment with the organization's strategic objectives, with a primary focus on 340B operational execution, client implementation, analytics oversight, and ongoing program performance management following client contract execution.

How you will make an impact:

  • Leads and directs high-priority projects requiring high levels of cross functional integration across pharmacy operations, analytics, finance, purchasing, account management, and external vendor partners.

  • Responsible for coordinated management of projects over their entire life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, control, close), including 340B client onboarding, implementation activities, operational workflows, and performance optimization initiatives.

  • Manages the portfolio using established portfolio management processes while supporting operational execution for covered entities, specialty pharmacy programs, and third-party administrator (TPA) partnerships.

  • Collaborates with executive sponsor and stakeholders, continuously reviewing, updating, and optimizing the portfolio to ensure compliance with changing organizational strategies, goals and objectives, including alignment between sales, operations, analytics, and client support teams.

  • Monitors the portfolio budget, scope, schedule and key performance indicators in order to address issues, risks & performance issues and assure achievement of intended project/program outcomes, including implementation timelines, operational performance, dispensing data workflows, and client value realization metrics.

  • Communicates portfolio decisions, prioritization, status & risks to the executive sponsor and stakeholders to ensure organizational alignment and optimum return on investment while supporting internal and external operational partnerships.

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS in a related field and minimum of 7 years project/program management experience, in addition to minimum of 4 years management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • PMI PMP (Project Management Professional), MBA, IIBA CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), Lean Six Sigma, or related operational excellence certification within healthcare or pharmacy operations preferred.

  • Proven leadership experience managing operational, implementation, analytics, or account management teams within healthcare, pharmacy services, specialty pharmacy, hospital systems, or 340B program environments preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting 340B operational workflows including client onboarding, implementation management, dispensing data management, inventory replenishment coordination, financial reconciliation processes, or operational performance reporting preferred.

  • Deep understanding of the 340B program and contract pharmacy model, including experience working with covered entities, hospital systems, specialty pharmacies, PBM-owned specialty pharmacy operations, or third-party administrators preferred.

  • Specialty pharmacy, retail pharmacy, contract pharmacy, PBM, or healthcare trade experience with exposure to hospital systems, IDNs, group purchasing organizations, or 340B operational program management strongly preferred.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect operational strategy, analytics, implementation performance, and stakeholder management across pharmacy, finance, inventory, and client support functions while influencing cross-functional teams and senior leadership preferred.
