Parts Manager

Seeking a Parts Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Maple Plain, MN. Our client is a Midwest-based supplier and servicer of forklift machines and parts. They provide a multi-line parts department for several different product lines. The Parts Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the parts department to ensure efficiency, consistency, and dexterity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain strong relationships while working with Department managers, vendors, and customers.
• Contribute towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
• Develop, expand, and manage customer relationships to enhance parts sales.
• Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all parts department staff.
• Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods.
• Instruct staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales.
• Assist in forecasting goals and objectives for the parts department.
• Collaborate with service managers to ensure all parts are available for repair jobs.
• Provides technical assistance to parts department employees.
• Monitors parts department employees' payroll records.
• Handles customer complaints immediately.
• Enforces safety requirements, including but not limited to forklift training and operation, processing of MSDS sheets on all products carried and OSHA Right-to-Know.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations that may affect parts sales.
• Maintains professional appearance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals.
• Knowledge of industry, including marketing plans, security, and safety programs.
• Strong strategic thinking and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet programs such as Excel.
• Sales and customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Mathematical skills to help manage the inventory, pricing and estimates.
• Problem-solving skills to deal with parts inventory issues.
• Previous mechanic or sales experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Product knowledge to ensure they identify parts correctly and recommend the needed parts.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in the industry
• Previous experience in a parts department.
