Customer Support Specialist
Based in Pittsburgh, PA RIDC Park, Nidec Vamco Corporation is a fast growing manufacturer and a global leader in design of high speed servo equipment for the metal stamping industry.
Nidec Vamco Corporation has an opening for a Customer Support Specialist as part of our Customer Support Group. The basic function of this position is to build a relationship with and provide technical information to current and assist them in determining their needs for the purchase of repair parts and provide technical support.
DUTIES
- Provide telephone and email technical support.
- Provide technical support and process returns as needed
- Conduct customer rebuilds and repairs in the field or at our facility
- Rework, repair or replace damaged mechanical or electrical parts or assemblies
- Assist servicemen, service dept., sales, & engineering with requirements needed to fulfill customer needs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Customer Support Experience maintaining industrial equipment (mechanical and electrical problem solving)
- An understanding of press room products such as presses, feeds and related equipment would be beneficial.
- The ability to read, understand and apply the content of blueprints, instruction manuals, procedure manuals and assembly manuals.
- Mechanical aptitude with mechanical or electrical engineering background helpful
- Experience in the metal forming industry such as tool and die, manufacturing engineering, maintenance and the like would be helpful
- An associate or bachelor's degree in technical discipline is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to generate new business by outbound calling and by reaching out to existing customer base.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products.
- Careful attention to detail, organized, strong work ethic, high integrity
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with exceptional influencing skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and with customers.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Self-confident, self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work long hours as may be required during customer emergency situations
