Position Title: Digital Advertising and Reporting Analyst

Location: Warrenton, VA/Remote Hybrid USA

Salary: Commensurate with Skills & Experience

Status: Full-time, salaried, exempt

Reports to: Director of Marketing

OVERVIEW


The Digital Advertising and Reporting Analyst supports the implementation of Rainforest Trust's digital marketing campaigns by properly implementing and managing site analytics and related technologies that support effective ad trafficking and campaign management across all Digital Media channels (Search, SEO, Programmatic, Email, Social, etc.).

The Digital Advertising and Reporting Analyst creates the data and technology foundations that support Rainforest Trust's marketing investments by leveraging data to maximize returns, optimize marketing funnels to improve performance and engagement This position will analyze all marketing metrics and KPIs and communicate results and guide the creation of content to maximize returns in marketing initiatives.

A successful outcome for this position is the innovative use of analytics to help meet Rainforest Trust's marketing goals, increase audience engagement, and aid Rainforest Trust in meeting and exceeding its fundraising goals.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Digital Advertising and Reporting Analyst is responsible for the following primary job responsibilities and essential functions:

  • Plan, implement and monitor paid digital marketing activity including search, display and social advertising strategies that align with overarching marketing goals and objectives with annual budget between $200 - 300,000 for FY'22.
  • Perform deep dives into data sources so the Director of Marketing can better understand and improve the user journey on each platform.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on the data collection towards KPIs and goals.
  • Mining search query reports to add new long-tail keywords, match types and negatives.
  • Conduct in-depth keyword and website research, ad grouping, and audience targeting.
  • Work with the Marketing team to inform, align and apply content strategy to organic and paid media and SEO.
  • Conducts regular audience and ad testing to experiment and optimize.
  • ​​Mining search query reports to add new long-tail keywords, match types and negatives.
  • Support the creation of monthly updates on marketing performance for delivery to leadership.
  • Conduct periodic competitive/market research and compare accounts against benchmarks.
  • Analyze donor data from the CRM and share insights/recommendations.
  • Maintain and update reporting dashboards for digital ads, social media, email marketing and website traffic.
  • Ensure Google Analytics is fully optimized and connected to all important channels like Google Ads and Search Console.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Expertise in SEO, Google Ads/Google AdGrants, and Bing Ads, Facebook Business Manager and Google Analytics.
  • Experience with cross-discipline media planning (PPC, display, SEM, mobile, etc.) with a demonstrable record of campaign management, digital media innovation and increasing media spend.
  • Fundamental understanding of the digital marketing ecosystem including PPC, SEO, Programmatic, social media.
  • Experience or familiarity with digital marketing tools: ad servers, DSPs, and paid social and audience management platforms.
  • Outstanding analytical skills and attention to detail for tracking and reporting.
  • Experience working collaboratively with marketing colleagues, leadership and staff at all levels and ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical or media savvy audiences.
  • Proficiency in Google Workplace Suite: Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Google Data Studio
  • Knowledge of social media channels and creating ad copy.
  • Experience visualizing data in platforms such as Google Data Studio, PowerBI Etc...
  • Capable of working concurrently on several projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to meet deadlines, clearly communicate challenges, solutions, recommendations, and perspectives in a constantly evolving environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors in Marketing, Communications, Information Systems, Business, Statistics or related major.
  • 3-5 years experience in a digital marketing analytics role with experience using Google Analytics (GA),Google Tag Manager (GTM) and other digital tracking platforms.
  • Google Ads and Google Analytics certified preferable.
  • Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus.

Working Conditions and Travel Requirements

The Digital Advertising and Reporting Analyst may choose to work from home, at our office in Warrenton, VA or mix the two. Remote work requires reliable internet access.
