Job Title: On-Site Teacher, Florida Scholars Academy
Annual Salary: $59,850/annual
Location: FL - FSA - Various Tampa Florida Locations
The Position:
Position General Summary:
The Instructor, Florida Scholars Academy (FSA) provides an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to reach their full educational potential. The Instructor, Florida Scholars Academy exhibits a passion for, and dedication to, the remediation, acceleration, and academic growth of at-risk students. This position organizes and implements an instructional program resulting in students achieving academic success in accordance with state policies and laws. This position is responsible for teaching assigned academic subjects on-site in residential facilities for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice students.
Job Functions:
- Plan and implement engaging instructional activities to foster active student engagement and meaningful learning experiences.
- Customize instructional resources to accommodate diverse student backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
- Supervise students, maintain attendance records, and ensure effective classroom management.
- Evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and participate in collaborative efforts to enhance the instructional environment.
- Communicate with students, parents, and stakeholders in a timely manner and uphold professional standards.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university.
- Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in relevant subject area OR enrollment in an approved education program.
- One-year teaching experience within subject area or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective classroom management, and proficiency in relevant technologies.
Experience:
- One year of successful teaching experience in the relevant subject area, completion of FLVS instructional internship program, or enrollment in an approved education program.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's)
- Proficient in Internet and web-related technologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal and classroom management skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work well within a team.
- Responsible, accountable, and self-motivated.
- Proficiency in computer applications to enhance workflows and instructional practices.
- Ability to thrive in a high-demand environment.
- Commitment to supporting student-centered behaviors and core competencies.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
• Frequency of travel: Daily travel is required to the assigned residential facility. Frequent travel is required for meetings, training, and conferences; location may vary and may require overnight stays.
• Light physical activities and efforts required working in an office environment
