Product Support Technician

Allied Mobile Systems

Dunn, NC

 

Allied Mobile Systems, a thriving and rapidly expanding company, is a privately owned subsidiary of The Godwin Group based in Dunn, NC. The Product Support Technician reports directly to the company’s General Manager. The successful candidate will initially work with the team to learn our mobile electronic and hydraulic control systems. The expectation is to develop knowledge and skills to provide support for our existing products, projects to improve functionality of existing products, and development of new products. The candidate will work with customers, vendors, and project teams. Starting wage ranges from $42,000 and upwards

based on skills, qualifications, and experience.

 

You will work with IQAN software and other software to support and troubleshoot electronic and hydraulic control systems. You will work directly with customers to support their systems as well as learn and understand the needs of the customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience with electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic controls and/or education in Electrical, Electronics, Hydraulics, Mechatronics, or similar discipline

· Training and/or Experience with control logic programming and troubleshooting. Experience with IQAN software is a major plus

· Experience and/or knowledge of hydraulic systems is a plus

· Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn outside of existing areas of expertise

· Good oral and written communication skills and ability to work with a variety of roles including intercompany employees, vendors, our distributors, and the end customers who use our products. Ability to work with customers in “hands on” roles up to top level managers

· Must have the ability to listen to customers and seek to understand their needs to determine how we can make our products meet those needs

· Willing to work in fast paced setting, able to handle change, and have the creative energy to solve problems

· CDL license is a plus, or willingness to obtain a CDL license

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Self-starter requiring limited supervision
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Skilled user of Microsoft Office Products
  • Experience of troubleshooting electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings
  • Familiarity with programmable controls. (IQAN experience is a plus)
  • Familiarity with CAN bus technologies is desirable
  • Willingness to do hands-on work when needed
  • Willingness to get dirty occasionally
  • Willingness to learn and work “outside of the box”
  • Willingness to work overtime if necessary.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer support including troubleshooting, technical training, and operational training
  • Work with project teams from design through implementation
  • Work with team on preparation and refinement of product manuals, training materials, and technical documentation
  • Identify product performance and cost improvements
  • Work with cross-functional team (design, manufacturing plant personnel, purchasing, distributors, and customers) in support of new projects and existing systems
  • Some overnight travel is required (customer visits, trade shows, etc.)
