Restaurant Lead

SUMMARY The Restaurant Lead is an experienced, talented, and highly motivated individual who is passionate about creating a memorable food and beverage experience for our guests through hands on leadership and ongoing team member training. This individual will Lead the café team and be responsible for implementing and organizing all activities in the restaurant to maintain high food quality standards, high guest service standards, high cleanliness standards. The Restaurant Lead will be creating and maintaining the ethos of the café environment influencing an interactive and community building vibe.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible leading shifts that can consistently execute great food and service.
• Responsible for the restaurant adhering to all company guidelines to maintain a health promoting operation, high food quality and high guest satisfaction.
• Hires, trains, supervises, the hourly team members to ensure we provide the best product, service, and education to our guests.
• Leading the career development of self and others by attracting and training high performing talent.
• Has an eye to recognize and proactively assist in addressing liability, risk, and compliance opportunities.
• Adheres to inventory procedures and policies, maintaining food, beverage, and labor cost control strategies.
• Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints.
• May open or close the cafe.
• Inspects dining areas, food receiving, preparation and production areas, and storage space to ensure that health and safety regulations are always adhered to.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

The Restaurant Lead must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to demonstrate they can perform the essential functions of the job, along with the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Must be able to communicate English clearly and effectively.
• PC literate with a working knowledge of MS Office preferred.
• Working knowledge of simple accounting principles and finance.
• Must be able to create and maintain a strong team atmosphere within the restaurant.
• Strong ability to delegate and hold team accountable while training and coaching.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to change, is a self-starter, is a critical thinker, and has outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (will be required to succeed).
• Models a servant leadership management style.
• Desires to contribute positively to the LL! culture.
• Able to balance candor with honor and respect, as well as hunger with humility.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED

• Strong background in Restaurants and Hospitality Management.
• Strong knowledge of variety of healthy lifestyle and culinary offerings.
• Previous knowledge of Toast preferred.
• Experience with catering programs and special events a huge plus.
• Experience with OSHA and all local Department of Health Regulations.
• 4+ years' related experience required.
