Position Summary

This position reports directly to the Vice President of University Advancement. This position will assist with implementing fundraising, marketing, and operational strategies in support of the University of Central Arkansas' mission and goals - with a primary focus in Northwest Arkansas. This position will be based in Northwest Arkansas.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage relationships with top prospects in NW Arkansas; work to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward these very important alumni and friends of the university.
  • Identify, cultivate and manage relationships with corporate partners.
  • Work to build community affiliation with individuals and potential corporate partners through active involvement in social, community and professional organizations.
  • Work collaboratively with and in support of volunteers, other Development Office and Advancement Division staff, and other university representatives to cultivate and solicit donors for university-wide priorities.
  • In coordination with the Director of Campaign Communications and the Assistant Vice President for Legacy Planning, develop, manage, and prepare a multi-channel Office of Legacy Planning marketing plan to educate, cultivate, and steward planned giving donors and prospects in the Northwest Arkansas region.
  • Work closely with Development, Alumni Relations and Advancement Services teams to identify, qualify and cultivate donor prospects.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of alumni and donor events and meetings in NW Arkansas.
  • Attend bi-weekly Development staff meetings (via Zoom), quarterly Advancement Division meetings (in person), and attend essential university and Advancement events in person as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration or related field, or equivalent experience of five (5) years' experience as a fundraiser.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, self-managed, able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, have outstanding organizational abilities, good judgment and strong ethics.
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum five years of experience in fundraising, sales, customer relations or a related field.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge, Crescendo, Free Will, iWave and Microsoft Office products.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Fundraising, financial planning or sales/customer relations experience.

About the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services

The Arkansas Division of Workforce Services (ADWS) is the state agency responsible for providing job-related services to unemployed state residents, such as coordinating training and educational opportunities, processing unemployment insurance claims, and connecting job seekers with employment opportunities in the state.

The Arkansas Division of Workforce Services consists of four major sections: Workforce Services, Adult Education, Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, and Services for the Blind. Each section is responsible for administering multiple state and federal grants, the programs they fund, and the services they provide to Arkansans.
