Job description

Michigan Broadband Services, a leading provider of high-speed communications services, is growing and seeking a Community Engagement Lead to join our team.


The Customer Engagement Lead will develop programs encompassing all aspects of the community on behalf of Michigan Broadband. Including, but not limited to, events that generate sales leads, sponsorships, partnerships, customer retention efforts, social media campaigns, and community programs. This role will sit at the intersection of community engagement, marketing, and customer experience, serving as a bridge between external stakeholders and internal teams.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive community engagement plans, outreach, and advocacy efforts
  • Drive company initiatives by developing strategies for outreach, communication, and events
  • Cultivate strong relationships with community members, partners, and stakeholders
  • Oversee public programs, events, volunteer recruitment, and community gatherings
  • Manage communications as it pertains to community engagement, including content creation, and social media, to boost brand awareness and gather insights
  • Collect and analyze community feedback and engagement metrics to inform company strategy
  • Work with marketing, customer service, and product teams to address community needs
  • Be an out-of-the-box thinker and have big ideas within a team setting that can be used to establish new community-oriented programs and events
  • Must be a motivated self-starter who is willing to work within a fast-paced team, but also independently, taking initiative to be successful in this role
  • The candidate must also be able to provide product and service information, handle customer inquiries, and de-escalate complaints professionally
  • Must have the ability to speak in front of large crowds with ease
  • Be a brand ambassador within the community
  • Assist with event coordination, setup, and be on-site as needed
  • This role will require working some evenings and weekends

Job Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects for event set-ups


Schedule: Monday to Friday (some weekends)

Education: High school or equivalent

Work Location: Flexible, as this role requires event attendance on many weekends
