Job description

Community Engagement Assistant 

Position Overview 

We are seeking an outgoing, relationship-driven Community Engagement Assistant to support our community outreach efforts and help strengthen our presence in the markets we serve. This part-time role assists with community partnerships, sponsorships, local events, and volunteer initiatives while representing the company in a positive and professional manner. 

The ideal candidate enjoys meeting new people, is highly organized, and is passionate about making a positive impact in the community. Working closely with the Community Engagement Manager and Regional Social Media Specialist, this role helps execute community engagement initiatives that align with the company's values and business goals. 

What You'll Do 

Community Engagement & Partnerships 

  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with nonprofit organizations, schools, chambers of commerce, municipalities, local businesses, and community groups.  
  • Attend with the company at select networking events, ribbon cuttings, trade shows, and community functions.  
  • Support the Community Engagement Manager in developing local partnerships and identifying community involvement opportunities.  
  • Assist with coordinating sponsorships, partnership activations, and maintaining communication with community partners.  
  • Track partnership commitments and help measure community impact.  

Community Programs & Brand Support 

  • Assist in coordinating volunteer opportunities, community service projects, scholarships, donations, and other outreach initiatives.  
  • Encourage employee participation in community events and volunteer activities.  
  • Work with the Regional Social Media Specialist to identify content opportunities and capture photos, videos, and event highlights.  
  • Gather customer, employee, and community success stories that showcase the company's values and strengthen brand awareness.  

Event Coordination & Administrative Support 

  • Help coordinate event logistics, scheduling, and other administrative tasks related to community engagement.  
  • Maintain accurate records of community events, sponsorships, partnerships, and volunteer activities.  
  • Assist with tracking engagement metrics, event outcomes, and preparing reports on community initiatives.  
  • Support the overall planning and execution of community engagement efforts to ensure successful events and partnerships. 

Qualifications 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, Business, Sports Management, Nonprofit Leadership, or a related field is highly encouraged. 
  • Previous experience in customer service, event planning, student organizations, volunteer leadership, nonprofit work, marketing, or community involvement is preferred but not required. 
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. 
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects and events. 
  • Comfortable representing the company at community events and networking functions.
