Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director of Employer and Community Engagement. - Boca Raton, FL.
Reporting to the Director of Employer and Community Engagement, the Assistant Director, Employer and Community Engagement is responsible for researching, identifying, recruiting, and securing prospective new employers who will hire FAU students and alumni, while assuring productive relationships with existing employers, partners, and sponsors. Responsible for conducting employer on-site visits, providing leadership and support for the development and implementation of employer-involved programs and events (with students, faculty, and staff).
Summary of responsibilities:
Employer Engagement:
  • Assist in leading the FAU Career Center's employer relations program development and efforts by reaching out to prospective new employers and managing current employer relationships through meetings, employer site visits, networking events, and cold calling.
  • In concert with the Director, Employer and Community Engagement, develops, implements, and assesses a comprehensive employer recruitment strategy in support of the FAU Career Center's strategic planning goals and operational objectives.
  • Secures employer participation and, in collaboration with the Event and Marketing Specialist, coordinates and supports logistics for career events.
  • Manages on-campus employer engagement programs such as tabling, employer of the day, and on-campus interviews. This involves securing employers, leading outreach efforts, regularly monitoring registrations, and providing updates to the Director, Employer, and Community Engagement.
  • Develop, plan, and implement employer engagement activities and other assigned programs.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to employers.
  • Conduct employer meetings and site visits to grow full-time job and experiential opportunities for Florida Atlantic University students.
  • Educate Career Center staff on employment trends and opportunities in the local economy.
  • Present the FAU Career Center's engagement opportunities to assigned employers and constituents.
  • On behalf of the Career Center, establish and maintain partnerships with employers, faculty, alumni, and community members.
  • Responsible for reviewing/approving job postings, employers, career events, and campus recruiting schedules in Handshake.

On and Off-Campus Community Engagement:
  • Become active in Professional Associations such as the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Southern Association of Colleges and Employers, Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, and SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management), and others as needed.
  • Attend community events hosted by organizations such as the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce and the Palm Beach County Business Development Board to stay informed on workforce and economic development trends while engaging directly with employers.
  • Collaborates with on-campus partners, such as the Faculty, the Office of Student Activities and Involvement, and the Office of Greek Life, to develop events and initiatives that connect employers with students.
  • Supports initiatives within Student Affairs.

General:
  • Supports Career Center Events, initiatives, and special programs, and delivers FAU Career Center programs within the broader FAU community.
  • Responsible for managing employer meetings, coordinating site visits, planning events, and overseeing data collection and analysis.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience required.

$60,000 annually.
