Job description

Job Description: The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for the recruitment, screening, training, and ongoing recognition of the Center’s student and community volunteers. Under the direction of the Development Director, the Community Engagement Manager will work cross-functionally to ensure the Center is appropriately staffed with counseling interns, group facilitators, greeters, potluck partner donors/volunteers as well as additional volunteer opportunities as needed. The Community Engagement Manager will cultivate relationships community partners to drive engagement with the Center and grow monetary donations and will represent the Center at various community events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Responsible for recruiting, vetting, and onboarding volunteers for all positions including, but not limited to interns, greeters, group facilitators, potluck partners, and admin volunteers
Coordinate interviews for volunteers with Program team when appropriate
Track volunteer constituent data and maintain volunteer shift schedules in Salesforce
Proactively connect and build relationships with community members to ensure the Center has a robust database of volunteers and a steady flow of new donors
Cultivate and steward community volunteers with a goal of increasing engagement and inspiring monetary donations
Responsible for establishing a best-in-class volunteer appreciation program including written notes and events in coordination with Special Events Manager
Assist Program team with preparations for Volunteer Facilitator Training
Welcome all first-time volunteers to the Center (including potluck partners)
Conduct monthly Tours of the Heart for community members
Represent the Center at various community events
ADMINISTRATION
Establish goals and objectives that are in accordance with the organization’s mission, policies and strategic plan
Attend all staff and development meetings
COLLABORATION
Work with Program and Development Director to ensure all volunteer needs of the organization are being fulfilled
Assist with fundraising and special events when needed
Maintain open communication and positive/productive relationships within all internal and external relationships
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Excellent people skills such as teamwork and customer service
Fluent in all Microsoft Office applications
Flexible self-starter – able to manage multiple concurrent projects while also being highly detail-oriented with an attention to quality
Physical Requirements: include occasional lifting/carrying of 25 pounds; visual acuity; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Working knowledge of Salesforce
3-5 years related experience, preferably in a non-profit organization
