Litigation Attorney Associate

DeHay & Elliston, a nationally recognized litigation firm, seeks an experienced litigation attorney to join our Downtown Chicago office. This position requires a candidate who is an active member of the Illinois State Bar with a minimum of two years of experience as a litigation attorney, with priority given to attorneys with three to five years in asbestos defense and active Missouri State Bar license.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Civil litigation or toxic tort/asbestos defense experience preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
• Excellent organizational, time management, research, and analytical skills.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and proactively manage a large caseload.
• Ability and willingness to look at a problem from a new or different perspective and design a unique solution.
• Must have ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
• Experience in billing required.

Job Duties:

• Working up a case from initial client contact to trial (under the guidance of a supervising Partner).
• Preparing and responding to discovery.
• Preparing and arguing motions, including dispositive motions.
• Taking percipient and expert depositions.
• Trial preparation and support.

• Attorney: 3+ years (Preferred)
• Active Member of Illinois State Bar (Required)
• Active Member of Missouri State Bar (Preferred)
