Pittsburgh CLO is a not-for-profit cultural organization dedicated to the preservation, creation and promotion of the American musical theater art form, the furnishing of arts education and providing outreach and meaningful community service opportunities in Western Pennsylvania and throughout the United States.
The Pittsburgh CLO, hailed as one of the nation's premier regional theaters, is seeking a creative, energetic, and goal-oriented, individual to serve as the Community Engagement Manager. As a member of the Education team, the successful candidate will build relationships and bridges across the Pittsburgh community. This individual will also work in collaboration with the Director of Education to oversee and expand programs in the community including, but not limited to, Creative Vision, Gallery of Heroes and the Gene Kelly Awards. What you'll do:

  • Manage and direct the Creative Vision program; Perform regular evaluations and analyze program success.
  • Arrange for Creative Vision faculty recruitment and training; guide faculty in curriculum development; and facilitate the faculty payroll in collaboration with the Education Operations Coordinator.
  • Provide on-site, in-class support to the Creative Vision faculty two to three days per week.
  • Coordinate the scholarship program and process between Creative Vision and the Academy
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the Creative Vision schools' principals, teachers, and other building staff.
  • Secure letters of support from school districts to use for Pittsburgh CLO Development efforts and accompany the Pittsburgh CLO's Development Department employees on visits to funders and provide any data requested regarding the Creative Vision program.
  • Assist the school principals in the development of the paperwork required to secure School District Board approval for funding the Creative Vision program.
  • Develop strong relationships with underserved communities to increase the diversity of students, faculty, and staff at the Pittsburgh CLO.
  • Work with CLO staff to achieve goals of the Pittsburgh CLO related to DEAI. Partner with Human Resources Manager on employee training and engagement.
  • Develop the application packet and organize the Charles Gray Award process.
  • Develop strong relationships and connections between school outreach programs including Gallery of Heroes and Gene Kelly Award contacts.
  • Increase enrollment at CLO Academy through engagement efforts.
  • Increase school registrations of Gallery of Heroes through engagement efforts.
  • Provide onsite support for Gallery of Heroes cast and crew.
  • Manage offsite Summer Camp programs.
  • Provide assistance and support to the Education Department programs.
  • Serve as a liaison to build relationships between all engagement programs and the Pittsburgh CLO.
  • Attend regular Education department meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you'll need:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in a related field such as Education or Communications
  • 3-5 years experience in teaching or curriculum building
  • 3 years management experience preferred
  • Must be willing and available to work pre-scheduled evenings and weekends
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Superb organization skills
  • Excellent customer service, conflict resolution, and relationship building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Engaged in and inspired by Musical Theater
What we offer:
  • Annual compensation at $50,000.00.
