What The Role Entails

CloudHQ is seeking a resourceful Payroll Manager to be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and reconciliation of payroll, ensuring timely and efficient processing of multiple global payrolls across our four entities: CloudHQ, Dalian Development, WindHQ, and Cloud Capital. The Senior Payroll Administrator will be a key partner in developing and implementing payroll solutions, as well as ensuring compliance with local and international payroll laws. In addition, the successful contender will support the accounting close process with timely and accurate reporting, documentation, and streamlined processes. This is a hands-on position that will require self-direction, reliability, and a high degree of accuracy and follow-through.

This position directly reports to the Vice President of Human Resources, with dual accountability to the Corporate Accounting team.

Requirements

What You Will Get to Do

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Processes US bi-weekly payrolls, accurately calculating pay, and required deductions
  • Collaborates with international payroll partners to validate and process payrolls according to appropriate frequencies by country
  • Serves as the timekeeping administrator for Paylocity Time & Labor, ensuring accurate set-up of timesheets, permissions, and leave management
  • Administer benefit plan deductions, withholdings, and reconciliation processes including 401(k), HSA/FSA
  • Maintains and enhances payroll systems and processes in collaboration with Human Resources team
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Manages and audit labor allocations system wide on a regular basis; completing allocation reports on a bi-weekly basis and as needed
  • Prepares required tax filings and other reporting
  • Facilitates tax registration in new jurisdictions, collaborating with internal tax and accounting teams
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal taxes and legislation that affect payroll and ensures compliance
  • Manages relationship with outside service providers including Paylocity and payroll consulting partners within and outside the US
  • Serves as a liaison to employees and managers, responding to and resolving any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting
  • Reconciles payroll-related reporting and resolves discrepancies
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
  • Ensures proper approvals to submit payroll and maintains required documentation for audit purposes
  • Collaborates with Accounting team on internal and external audits by providing records and reports on a timely basis
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
  • Participates in development, implementation, and maintenance of global payroll operations including maintaining and configuring a global payroll system
  • Participates in special projects as required


What You Bring to The Role

  • An Associates Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or other related field; or an equivalent level of experience.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of professional payroll experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in complex payroll administration required
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll operations including preparation, account reconciliation, internal controls, reporting, and payroll taxes
  • Advanced proficiency with payroll-related software including Excel, HR/payroll systems (Paylocity), and report writing
  • Experience with administering global payroll, implementing new payrolls and process improvements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments, countries, and cultures
  • Able to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Understanding of premium pay and administration of executive compensation
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of ethics and professionalism
  • Impeccable ability to handle confidential information with professional discretion
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an emphasis on focus on internal customer service
  • Proactive and flexible with the ability to take initiative where appropriate
  • Superior organization and time management skills with the ability to maintain progress against important deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong work ethic and self-motivation

Our Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation, highly preferred
