Position Summary:

Vice President, Controller will oversee all financial accounting and reporting activities. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the accounting systems.

Description of Duties/Essential Functions:

  • Financial planning and analysis, general ledger accounting, cost and asset accounting, payroll and accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs and program budgets and actual expenditures
  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to leadership
  • Assist leadership in annual budgeting and planning
  • Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budget
  • Enhance/develop policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation
  • Provide team with professional and personal growth opportunities
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • Build teams, manage people, processes, and client relationships concurrently

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises various roles within Finance and Accounting

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance from an accredited college/university
  • 15 years experience in a financial role
  • CPA required
  • Health care industry experience a plus
  • Advanced degree preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with adding, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Detail oriented and multitasker
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven and Excellent management skills: ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills
