Position Overview:
As a Field Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by identifying and pursuing sales opportunities within the automotive and industrial manufacturing industries. You will leverage your commercial and technical expertise to understand customer needs, recommend tailored solutions, and foster long-term relationships. This position offers a unique blend of technical knowledge, sales acumen, and customer engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential customers, competitive intelligence and industry trends.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers through regular communication and site visits.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and proposals to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and customer support, to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements while ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers throughout the sales process and post-sales implementation.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform sales strategies.
- Create proposals and cost estimates that express the value proposition and technically differentiate from the competition.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and analyses to track performance and drive informed decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market intelligence in CRM systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in, Chemistry or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing paint shops or selling equipment in this area is a plus.
- Proven track record of success in B2B sales, preferably within the capital equipment or industrial manufacturing sector.
- Strong understanding of water and wastewater equipment and machinery used in industrial applications, including but not limited to RO systems, pumps, pressure filters, hydrocyclones, dissolved air floatation and sludge dewatering.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach to sales and relationship management.
- Proficiency in CRM software, ERP software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales productivity tools a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites.
- Location in the Southeast United States, (Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee) with easy access to key airports, is acceptable as is being located in Southeast MI near our home office.
