We are looking for a talented Vice President to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is smart, enthusiastic, curious, and willing to take risks. She/he/they will have the skills needed to lead and create compelling written, visual, and digital content, augment earned and digital media capabilities, as well as manage and actively steward several Curley Company client relationships.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively and proactively lead, design, and implement thought leadership, earned media, and strategic communications campaigns
  • Lead by example, growing more junior teammates with a positive mentorship approach to motivate, coach, and consistently provide clear, constructive, and timely feedback
  • Provide leadership to grow existing accounts
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and play an active role creating and delivering proposal materials and overall contribute to new business acquisition
  • Build, maintain, and grow relationships with senior client contacts and executives, and provide ongoing strategic counsel as needed
  • Generate both quick-turn creative solutions as well as longer-term programming, demonstrating agility and flexibility in your approach
  • Lead account management efforts including budgeting, implementation, evaluation, staffing and strategic planning
  • Set and manage client expectations, including developing, implementing, and tracking tangible measurements in line with account objectives and ROI goals
  • Anticipate and proactively address client and team needs and challenges quickly and adeptly
  • Possess and foster excellent presentation, writing, and technical skills
  • Demonstrate financial acumen and the ability to lead a profitable business by effective management of clients and teams
  • Serve as a member of the agency’s management team and as a trusted senior team member to all members of staff
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Curley’s values of providing excellent service, embracing empathy and excellence

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a deadline-driven, entrepreneurial, relationship-based environment with changing business priorities.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize them appropriately
  • Ability to manage both up and down the leadership chain for clients and colleagues
  • Thrive in and contribute to a positive and highly collaborative culture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Quick thinker and problem solver
  • Curious and looking to learn

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of communications experience and managing client relationships in an agency environment
  • Strong understanding of how to communicate with teams and work from both client and agency sides
  • Track record of leading profitable programs that have advanced client business goals
  • Superb people manager with experience successfully managing resources and budgets as well as helping win new business
  • Entrepreneurial and professional with the confidence necessary to manage a team
  • Demonstrated record of cultivation and stewardship of account growth and new business opportunities
  • Success in development and implementation of communication programs with measurable results

 

JOB LOCATION

This hybrid position is based in Washington, D.C. We are together in the office no less than two days per week. Our “anchor” days are currently Tuesday and Thursday weekly.
