Job Description

Starting Annual Salary: $75,000/yr + DOE
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours

Job Summary: The Compensation Analyst (CA) supports and informs VGMHC’s compensation program to ensure pay equity and facilitate market-informed decision making that aligns the organization’s compensation philosophy. The CA researches job market trends, analyzes related data, and maintains expert knowledge of federal, local, and state compensation laws. The CA is the primary compensation advisor to Employee Services & Labor Relations Manager and the VP of Talent, Insights, and Organizational Development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Implement and administer compensation systems including compensation policies and pay equity analysis.

· Assist managers with drafting job descriptions to ensure descriptions accurately reflect the work performed by incumbents or for new positions.

· Interview and survey employees and managers to gather and document job requirements, credential and qualification information, including duties, responsibilities, and skills required for each job, and education, training and experience possessed by each employee.

· Use job analysis, salary survey data, and pay equity models to determine appropriate salary offers for new hires and promotions.

· Assess jobs for FLSA exempt or non-exempt classification, salary scale, and range placement.

· Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market information to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.

· Prepare and maintain job classifications and salary scales.

· Prepare and present summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.

· Conduct data and cost analyses to support union negotiations and collective bargaining agreements.

· Analyze company bargaining proposals for employee benefits and union demands; obtain and analyze cost data for company and union proposals.

· Conduct and participate in compensation surveys.

· Prepare management, EEO, and other related reports.

· Maintain organizational compliance with all federal, state, and local compensation laws, regulations, and union contract provisions.

· Compare and benchmark existing benefit offerings with those of comparable employers; participate in area and industry surveys, analyze results of surveys, and develop specific recommendations to ensure benefits are cost-effective and competitive.

· Oversee ACA reporting and compliance.

· Develop and implement process for regular review of all job descriptions.

· Support annual 403(b) audit and ensure accurate and timely completion of 5500 reports.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

HIPAA Requirements

The Compensation Analyst must handle protected information (PHI) in a manner consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). This position may be exposed to PHI in the course of his/her duties and have access to PHI of VG employees in order to provide benefit-related guidance to employees. All employees are required to read the content of PHI records only to the extent needed to perform the functions of the job.

· Ability to provide thorough, well-reasoned advice based on research and data.

· Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain composure in stressful situations.

· Ability to work collaboratively to achieve goals.

· Knowledge of compensation and benefits processes and HRIS system administration.

· High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.

· Excellent attention to detail

· Proficient with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

· Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, safe driving record and insurance coverage required.

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, economics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

· Three years’ experience in compensation and pay equity analysis required.

· Experience with the healthcare industry, unionized environments, and non-profits is preferred.

· CCP certification a plus.

Physical Requirements:
