Calvary Day School seeks a Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and manage marketing, as well as internal and external communication efforts for the school. Our mission at Calvary Day School is to provide a Christ-centered educational experience for grades Pre-K – 12 through the development of the total student- spiritually, academically, socially, and physically.

The Director of Marketing and Communications reports to the Head of School and collaborates closely with the directors of admissions and development. This position also works closely in supporting the needs of the school division heads, athletics and fine arts department heads, alumni, and various volunteer groups. This position leads efforts in promoting and enriching the brand of the school to key internal and external audiences, including current families, prospective families, alumni, current and future donors, and community partners. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, creative, and a solid writer and editor. This person will have great attention to detail, a passion for storytelling through various media, and the ability to juggle multiple projects.
This full-time position handles school messaging, brand development and strategy, communications policy and procedures, crisis communication, marketing efforts across different channels, public relations, social media, web content, photography, and some video production – all while ensuring that messaging reflects the school’s values, brand, and reputation in a clear and consistent manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Essential functions may include any of the following duties, knowledge, and skills. Maintains school website, ensuring content is engaging and current
Writes and edits content for digital and print distribution, including a weekly email newsletter to key constituents
Develops a plan for website design updates in conjunction with the site provider
Oversees editorial strategy and content creation for all social media channels (Facebook Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) and stays current on social media trends
Uses analytical tools to track success and engagement across social media channels
Serves as primary photographer/videographer for school events
Maintains Google Photos digital archives, organized by year/school level, etc.
Works with an in-house graphic designer for the production of digital and printed materials
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, this individual must be highly relational and able to perform each essential duty with excellence.
B.A. in communications, marketing, or related field and two years’ work experience
Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects and prioritize day-to-day tasks on tight deadlines
Excellent writing and editing skills with proficiency in AP Style
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Demonstrated photography skills
Skilled at analyzing marketing data and trends
Proficiency in:
Social media and content-sharing platforms
Cloud services and apps (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace)
Website administration or content management system (Experience in Blackbaud Education products a plus)
Graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign and Canva a plus
Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Facebook ads a plus
