Job Overview

The Advisor, Product Communications is responsible for developing and executing strategic product communications around Mercedes-Benz USA’s initiatives, with a focus on product launches, media engagement and event execution. This includes messaging around Mercedes-Benz product lineup, electric charging network expansion, and future technologies and products for both passenger cars and vans.

The role involves writing and editing press releases, coordinating with internal departments on communication strategy, and engaging with media to amplify key messages and supporting the operational execution of communications initiatives through vendor coordination, budget management, and event logistics.

The advisor also works closely with press fleet colleagues to manage nationwide media vehicle deployments and ensure alignment with product messaging, media requirements and event objectives. In addition, the role supports media outreach, event planning, travel coordination, and event logistics, ensuring seamless execution of media engagements and consistent and impactful communication across all touchpoints.

The role also oversees communications-related vendors and reporting partners, supports procurement and budget processes, and works closely with IT teams to maintain and enhance media-facing communications platforms

Responsibilities
  • 20% - Support planning and execution of media events, product showcases, and communications initiatives, including venue coordination, attendee management, travel arrangements, onsite logistics, and event operations.
  • 20% - Manage event and communications budgets, including forecasting, invoice processing, reconciliations, purchase orders (POs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), contracts, and vendor approvals.
  • 15% - Manage communications vendors and agency partners, including reporting providers, event partners, travel vendors, and logistics suppliers to ensure service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • 15% - Manage media relations, including outreach, responding to media inquiries, preparing spokespersons for media interviews, managing event invitations, and supporting media engagement activities.
  • 10% - Manage communications reporting and analytics, including oversight of Cision and other reporting tools, KPI tracking, media monitoring, and executive reporting.
  • 10% - Write and edit press releases, develop media kits, prepare messaging materials, and support communications content development.
  • 5% - Collaborate with IT and external partners to maintain, enhance, and transform MBUSA's media platforms, press sites, and communications tools.
  • 5% - Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure consistent messaging across channels

Qualifications Education

Bachelor’s Degree in: Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Business Administration

Knowledge and Experience
  • Prior experience in automotive communications, product marketing, or communication-related roles
  • Experience working with media and managing product launches
  • Total 5-8 years of relevant experience in:
