Job description

Role Overview:
The External Communications Specialist will support external communications efforts by helping translate business priorities into clear, accurate, and engaging content for external audiences. This role is focused on drafting and editing communications materials, supporting corporate social media, and assisting with broader storytelling initiatives that enhance the company's reputation and visibility.
This role requires a strong writer with 2-3 years of experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. The position also requires familiarity with generative AI tools to support drafting, editing, and message refinement while ensuring accuracy, tone, and alignment with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • External Content Development
  • Draft, edit, and proofread a range of external communications materials, including press releases, media statements, website content, and thought leadership pieces
  • Translate complex business topics into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate messaging
  • Use generative AI tools appropriately to support drafting, summarization, and message refinement while maintaining accuracy and brand standards
  • Ensure consistency in tone, messaging, and alignment with corporate communications guidelines
  • Corporate Social Media Support
  • Support day-to-day execution of corporate social media channels, including drafting content, scheduling posts, and coordinating approvals
  • Assist in adapting company announcements and thought leadership into engaging social media content
  • Monitor basic performance metrics and contribute ideas to improve engagement and reach
  • Media & External Communications Support
  • Assist in maintaining press materials, including press releases and background information
  • Support coordination with internal stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy in external communications
  • Help ensure consistency across external channels, including press, social media, and corporate platforms
  • Collaboration & Coordination
  • Work closely with communications leadership, Legal, Investor Relations, and subject matter experts to support external communications needs
  • Assist with coordinating content calendars and tracking communications deliverables

Qualifications
Required
  • 2-3 years of experience in communications, public relations, corporate communications, journalism, or a related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail
  • Experience drafting or supporting external communications such as press releases or social media content
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and an understanding of how to use them responsibly
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred
  • Experience supporting corporate or brand social media accounts
  • Familiarity with external communications processes and governance
  • Interest in exploring new tools and technologies to improve communications effectiveness
