The IT Support Specialist plays an essential role within a service focused technology team committed to advancing The Nightingale-Bamford School's mission of inspiring its K-12 all girl community to go beyond barriers. This role encompasses a diverse set of responsibilities, primarily focused on delivering comprehensive support for various audio-visual technologies utilized in classrooms and major event spaces. Additionally, the IT Support Specialist role manages the technical logistics of daily school events, maintains the school's phone system, supports all multi-function printer/copiers and addresses general help desk tickets. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual to demonstrate their strong interpersonal and technical skills as they deliver customer-focused support and adeptness in troubleshooting technology. Moreover, it calls for a proactive approach in fulfilling the responsibilities of the role. This is a full time, 12 month, non-exempt position that will start on July 1, 2024.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

  • Ensure the timely resolution and documentation of support requests assigned within IT's help desk ticket system
  • Oversee all classroom audio-visual technologies, which includes inventorying, setup, troubleshooting, general maintenance and user training
  • Coordinate AV support for school events, which includes managing the technical setup, ensuring staffing and attending weekly logistics meetings
  • Collaborate with AV consultants and technology team to support and document the AV technologies found in major event spaces
  • Manage technical support and maintenance for printers and copiers, including liaison to copier leasing company for support and supplies
  • Handle setup, training and maintenance of all phones, users accounts and VoIP services including updates to school phone directory
  • Work closely with the System Administrator to support all hallway and office displays
  • Work closely with the technology team to provide level 1 support for end-user devices and charging stations
  • Oversee proper storage and e-recycling of phased-out hardware
  • Support the school Technology Department as needed and perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or certification in a technology or educational related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a technology support role, experience in a K-12 environment a plus
  • Proficiency with a wide range of audio visual technologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Excellent communications skills, including verbal, written and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks while collaborating with school staff
  • Proactive, self-starter and customer service-oriented approach towards responsibilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shift, with occasional evening or weekend work to support school events. May involve lifting heavy hardware and occasional ladder use to access wall or ceiling-mounted technology.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $85,000- $90,000. Nightingale considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
