NeighborHealth Center is thriving nonprofit, faith-based medical practice caring for a diverse range of patients amongst the underserved of Raleigh. We are experiencing huge growth and need to find an HR Director. Use your genius managing our HR activities in this full-time role and do meaningful work that makes a difference in the welfare of our community. We are located on Blue Ridge Road across from Rex Hospital and offer a full benefit package. Please note that NHC requires every employee to be vaccinated for influenza. This is not a remote position. NO RECRUITERS, PLEASE.

Requirements:

Position Summary

The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities*

1. Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.

2. Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.

3. Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.

4. Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.

5. Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.

6. Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.

7. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.

8. Performs other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

1. Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.

2. Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

3. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

4. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

9. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

10. Computer literacy in internet use and Windows environment, including Outlook, Word, and Excel with keyboarding skills of at least 45 wpm.

11. Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with co-workers and community members.

12. Ability to serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, genders, ages, and backgrounds.


Required Knowledge, Experience, or Licensure/Registration

1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

2. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred

3. Three to five years of Human Resources experience required.

4. Demonstrates understanding of HR related processes and policies.

5. Ability to work onsite and remotely Mondays through Fridays during the hours of 8am and 5pm with occasional hours outside this time frame.

6. Ability to work remotely via a home office set up with access to secure internet connection.

7. Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English fluently.

This is a full-time, exempt position.
