Description
We are in a period of unprecedented growth and are seeking a Vice President of Consulting remotely or in our Greenbelt, Maryland, headquarters. 
 
The successful candidate must possess strong analytical and communications skills and a capacity to “connect the strategic and tactical dots.”  Working with our client’s C-Suite and Boards, the successful candidate will be charged with providing key insight and analysis necessary to advance the thoughtful and pragmatic expansion of our client’s market reach, promote their financial vitality, and deepen their strategic relevance.  An MBA, and demonstrated professional background in analyzing/addressing complex, multi-faceted business issues in conjunction with an ability to conduct the supporting analysis is required.

Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership and Consulting Services Delivery
  • Provide strategic and analytical assessment of client’s business opportunities and assess proposed strategies and execution tactics.
  • Synthesize trends with market specific competitive and operational considerations to formulate strategic and financial goals and tactics to achieve those goals.
  • Lead and facilitate client C-level team members to analyze, socialize/vet, and assist in the pursuit of key initiatives.
  • Formulate and shepherd long-range strategic business plans, forecasts, and business performance optimization.
  • Continually examine industry trends, assess resulting implications on client operations/standing, and recommend best practices and optimization tactics/initiatives for implementation.
Team Development and Leadership
  • Lead and manage a team of 5-10 Executive Business Consultants in the development of client opportunities, RFP responses and proposals, and the successful delivery of consulting engagements on time and on budget.
  • Identify skillsets to be developed or acquired and hire talent, based upon market demand.
Business Development
  • Develop consulting business with new and existing clients and close $4-$5M of new business annually. 
  • Develop new and existing client relationships by building and maintaining trusted relationships based upon thought leadership and high-quality service delivery.
  • Attend and speak at industry events, credentialing JSI as a strategic thought leader in rural broadband industry strategies, trends, and issues.

Qualifications
  • MBA with at least 15 years of relevant business/finance experience guiding company, product line, or business division P/L in the Communications / Broadband technology field.
  • Must possess demonstrated experience in the development and oversight/execution of multi-faceted business plans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including interface with C-Level / Board of Director stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in management or technology consulting, demonstrating a track record of success in developing client relationships, consultative sales, and delivery of service engagements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead clients, teams, and complex initiatives.
  • Ten (10) years of experience managing people with a proven track record of motivating staff to achieve departmental growth and budgetary objectives. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and self-sufficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated to hit budgetary targets, develop new service areas of expertise and growth, and pivot when necessary.
  • Strongest organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and deadlines, complete administrative tasks timely, and work in a fast-paced environment with a client-service attitude.
  • Prior experience working in a services field with rural telecommunications companies and/or rural electric companies is a plus.
