Job Description

This position is responsible for coordinating and processing new patient medication orders and refills by phone and other electronic methods. This includes verifying customer information; entering new or refill orders into the company information system; processing payments, preparing orders for the laboratory; assisting the pharmacists, and answering patient inquiries. The employee will work with internal staff and external customers to ensure that patients and caregivers are happy, and orders are processed promptly.

  • Take customer calls and provide accurate, satisfactory answers to their queries and concerns
  • Guide patients through troubleshooting, navigating or using the products or services we offer
  • Review patient accounts, providing updates and information about billing, shipping and other account items
  • Interact with customers via inbound calls, outbound calls, emails, and other communication platforms
  • New patient set up and data entry
  • Resolves routine, general questions and problems submitted by customers, physician offices and patients via different sources with limited variety following established guidelines and SOPs
  • Assist with sales of prescription and non-prescription items; including supplements and vitamins
  • Uses problem solving skills to offer support to patients calling in; obtains and evaluates relevant information and provides quick resolutions to questions, concerns, and problems; provides follow-up when appropriate
  • Responsible for compliance and oversight of individual work cell

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Able to pass a BCI and FBI background check
  • Register with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacy Technician
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience in a high-volume call center
  • Excellent Attendance
  • Strong customer service skills
  • "Soft" sales skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of calls
  • Math skills, including decimals and percentages
  • Positive, friendly, helpful, enthusiastic attitude
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Proactive, accurate, and well organized
  • Work well in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures
